Light it up!

Choose your story. Change your life. Change your culture.

Statistically speaking, there is a 1 in 4 chance as a leader, one of your employees will experience a mental health diagnosis they will need to seek treatment for at some point. Whether they seek treatment will be a critical determinant in what their recovery trajectory looks like and how they contribute to your work environment.

Those with certain mental health disorders that are well managed can gain desirable attributes that make them amazing employees: conscientiousness, innovation, creativity, persistence, attention to detail, high IQ, empathy, high EQ, energetic, etc. In my career as a psychiatrist I have worked with many in the start up and tech industry as well as with high performing professionals with well managed bipolar, depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, etc and seen them flourish. However, their work environment was not always and asset to their performance.

Stigma prevails in many systems and there are practices perpetuated that instill fear and mistrust. I feel as somebody who works in the mental health industry and somebody passionate about deconstructing stigma, I will get the best purchase if I choose to invest my consulting skills by working to impact the top and only with those who are ready and motivated for change. I exclusively work with leaders brave enough to step out of hiding and into shining.

I coach and consult with executives of small to mid size corporations who are ready to take serious the role that a leader can have when embracing authentic storytelling. I am on a mission to disrupt and shift the way organizations view the mental health spectrum thereby empowering them to leverage brain diversity to cultivate a culture of mental flourishing. This is done through a virtual coaching experience customized to your needs with the end goal of readiness to share your own personal story of a transformational encounter along the mental health spectrum. This could be a personal experience wrestling with a mental health diagnosis or caring for somebody impacted by the mental health spectrum. This could also be opening up about loss or grief or failure. It just needs to be authentic in dealing with difficult human emotions and therefore vulnerable. The coaching will prepare you to be able to effectively share your story by partaking in an on-site interview with professional videography. The video will be edited down to 5-7 minutes with the intention of empowering you as the leader to share with your organization to help strengthen your culture around this topic.
