This course deepened my understanding of the field of leadership though the lens of psychology.  I was able to learn and apply themes of leadership and personality, emotional intelligence and attachment theory to organizational leadership.  My journey of self-awareness was strengthened and affirmed as a tool for leaders.  I grew in understanding issues in leadership success and failures and the role of attachment theory and growth.

This course was the deepest parallel in what I do professionally as a psychiatrist and how that elevates into a larger practice of understanding the psychology of organizations.  This course helped me coin my tagline that I love working with “neurons and narratives and how that plays into understanding how individuals and organizations create change for the better”.

I am including my WE-Q profile as this was the most insightful piece of growth from this course.  Although some aspects were not what I would have hoped for (e.g. low joy, high shame, high anxiety) I understand how this is part of my emotional DNA starting point and that all the work I have done and am doing as an individual and a leader help buffer me against some of these defaults.
