Capstone Project: First Draft Design of the Burnout to Flourishing Inventory and Development of Flourishing Model
Step One: Performed literature review of burnout and its etiologies and proposal of project.
Step Two: Collaborated with partners to determine positive endpoint of flourishing.
Step Three: Reviewed contemporary and ancient models of salutogenesis/health/flourishing/ eudaimonia and used systems thinking to synthesize and generate an original model named the “Four Dimensions of Flourishing” or “4DF”.
Step Four: Created a questionnaire with an internal validator of burnout and an experimental design to test the new Four Dimensions of Flourishing model.
Next Steps Post Graduation:
Work to organize a focus group to test out the questionnaire and gain fruitful feedback.
Consult with PhD researchers to gain input on questionnaire design and statistical variables to consider for beta test.
Work with Agema Labs software engineers to create platform for completing the Burnout to Flourishing Inventory. This platform will also present visually the results and suggest steps for improvement.
Select small local organization to beta test the platform and get feedback.
Eventually use the platform for organizational wellness consulting through Campfire Change, leveraging credentials as a physician and psychiatrist to help organizations, individuals and communities “co-flourish”.
